M. L. Moseman descended from Homesteaders and grew up working on his family farm near Oakland, Nebraska. Receiving degrees in architecture and planning, he taught architecture at Syracuse University and was an urban design planner in Phoenix and Kansas City. He studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and twice traveled to Europe to see art and architecture. After his family farm was lost in the 1980's farm crisis, he answered the call to be a full-time artist creating art stemming from his agrarian heritage.
Moseman originated the genre of Agrarian Art expressing man's relation to the land. The term is recognized by the Smithsonian. Moseman is able to make exceptional interpretations of his "keepers of the land" because he is one of them.
Moseman had the idea for an art museum devoted to Agrarian Art. He was asked to donate his services as founding Vice President and Curator to start Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art. He provided the Agrarian Art vision for the museum. He established that brand by presenting Agrarian Art by nationally known artists.
For decades Moseman has been creating the Mark and Carol Moseman Collection of Agrarian Art, over 200 major artworks dating from the 1850's to the present. Mark presents some of these artworks in publications and museum exhibitions to educate the public on Agrarian Art. Since 2002 the Moseman's have been giving Agrarian Art to select museums within the Great Plains.
